Today’s Flowers: Grape Hyacinth

hyacinth_grape

I appreciate grape hyacinths, small cone-like flowers that grow from fall-planted bulbs, more now that I have whole bunches of them popping up in front of my home.

The grape hyancinths go nicely with the creeping phlox blooming in patches of my front yard.

Both species are just lovely and there to be appreciated. The phlox was of particular interest to me because of the twocoloured flowers with a bright yellow center and I agree the two compliment eachother perfectly.

Very nice! I don't think I've ever seen that kind of hyacinth. In the first shot they look like little blue trees. :-)
