Roof Goes Up in Illustrator
I have been painstakingly working on a project to illustrate three roofs (typical of Highland Park house roofs). Before Pesach (way back in March?) I photographed many of the roofs on our block. I’ve been sketching them, and I finally “put up” one roof today in Illustrator (using the pen tool), and here is the result. My plan is to do three of these, each one unique but about the same size. Then I will play with them in Photoshop, adding color, texture and details. And maybe a watercolor look with a Photoshop watercolor brush or two.
As you, the readers of this blog, are my cheering squad, I decided I would share with you this one black and white frame of a roof.

Clean and neat architecture. With Americans, one can never tell; but in my little home town similar houses were built between 1925 and 1935.
I like the symmetry and the simple abundance of windows. Even the brick pipe has something very self concious about it.
An asymmetric exclamation mark to underline the perfect. The house would have been duller without it.
Such a good project to enhance the silent beauty of your neighbourhood.
Hurray from your cheerleader.

Our house was built in 1917, so I suspect others on this block are from the 1910's or early 1920's.
Hugs to my first cheerleader of the day.

I agree with felisol that numerous windows are always welcome. What are the different materials involved in the rest of the house? Wood, bricks, stones?
leoraw says
Wood. But the idea of the black and white is it *could* be stone or bricks, right? I'm not trying to mimic reality, but rather, re-invent it.

Very nice! I look forward to seeing the finished product!
(Or should I say, "Rah! Rah! Rah! Go, Leora, go! Sis, boom, bah!" :-) )

You know how to make me smile. I haven't had a chance to get back to this today...
