Uncle Sam and Baby Robin
Way back in May I took this photo of Uncle Sam at the Highland Park Street Fair. The fair always seems to announce, summer is coming, summer is coming.
My daughter and I enjoyed roaming Raritan Avenue and taking in all the many booths. As you can see from her pink sweater, it wasn’t exactly summer weather.
The highlight of my summer thus far is the nest of robins growing on our front porch. Here’s a shot of a baby from last week. This week the robins already have many feathers and don’t seem as scared as they did earlier.

Nice! The robin is great--eyes closed, mouth open!

The robin reminds me of human babies when they're at their neediest -- FEED ME! Oh wait, no, that's my 14 year old son! Ha ha -- great shots!

Yes, they are really like human babies, but they grow much faster. This week, they seem almost ready to fly off.

Eyes closed, mouth open, yup, it's a Robin alright ;). Hey! Wait a minute...
Love robins for obvious reasons, but I've always wished their babies were a bit cuter (also for obvious reasons LOL).

Oh gosh, that little bald headed robin looks VERY hungry...he must be calling for his parent to come and feed him! Makes me think of a line in the Psalms (I think that's where I read it): Open your mouth and I will fill it!
Love the Uncle Sam guy on stilts...he looks like a happy fellow. Your daughter looks happy too....now that summer is (was) on its way.
leoraw says
הַרְחֶב-פִּיךָ, וַאֲמַלְאֵהוּ. Psalms 18:11
And the next line is:
וְלֹא-שָׁמַע עַמִּי לְקוֹלִי; וְיִשְׂרָאֵל, לֹא-אָבָה לִי.
So the people of Israel are not listening.
