SkyWatch at Jiminy Peak

swftomSky Watch Friday is a photo meme with photos of sunrises, sunsets, blue skies, gray skies, pink skies, dark skies and any other kind of sky posted by bloggers all over the planet.

Three photos from the same vantage point: the first one was taken on January 26, a day of some sunshine and wonderful skiing with the family. You may notice that all the snow in the second photo has been washed away by the rains in this one. But Jiminy Peak in the Berkshire Mountains in Massachusetts does a great job of snow making and grooming, so skiing was fine.

On this day, January 25, it rained so much and the winds were high so the mountain was closed, unusual for January.

Everyone was asleep except me and the friendly desk clerk.

These are beautiful. Such different views of the same scene. I love the Berkshire Mountains. I have only been there once, but I was completely smitten with them.

H Leora. I love the sky and the way that the mountains seem to criss cross at angles. The lights add a nice touch too.

Wonderful shots of the mountains. That's too bad that they had to close the ski slopes because of all the rain. I know that's hard on the businesses who rely on it.

It's actually reverse chronological order - from late afternoon one day, then early early morning the previous day, then one hour earlier than that, before the sun came up.

The rains affected our ski areas too, but they were also able to make snow..but I don't know that the scenery was as beautiful as this.....Michelle

Good morning Leora. My, how the view changes with each changing day and time of day. I remember years ago when my husband was leaving Treasure Island, the last week he was there he went to the same spot everyday taking the same view. Each picture was so different, just as these are. I especially like the rain picture.

What a fascinating series. I'm glad they were able to reopen the mountain quickly so you could all get back out there again.

I like how you framed a light in the mountain scene in each photograph.
