Hawthorn Berries and Thorns
By the time I had a chance to photograph the hawthorn berries this year, they were a bit past their prime. You can see some of my photos of the hawthorn tree from last year.
My main goal for this year was to get a shot of the thorns. Do you see the sharp thorns?

I love the one with the blue background from last year. The thorns are very impressive.

What excellent shots! I like the focus in the third photo...the thorns so pronounced.
leoraw says
I was pleased with that thorn shot, too.

Great shot of the thorns. It is so hard to get clear shots of things on trees...Lovely berries and you must get birds who come in to eat them too. Thank you for joining into Nature Notes this week Leora...Michelle

I was happy to get outside last Thursday to take these photos. Between working and the cold weather and everything being brown, haven't been in nature much.

I love shots of red in a photo or in a room. Very nice.

those are some serious thorns. The berries are pretty red - like in life thorny and pretty often go together.

"thorny and pretty often go together" - true, never thought of that before!

You did a great job with the thorns and the beautiful berries.

Thanks, Carver. I have grown quite fond of these hawthorn trees and their berries and thorns.

Beautiful berries and bark, but wicked thorns. Nice macros!
