fun old adages, Leora.

No - not me running. I would probably be gasping after about ten steps. Of course, that can change. In truth, this was a tiny part of a larger picture of a woman sitting at Starbucks. The entire pictures can be seen a couple of post further down.
Yes, the plastic people are very cool. It was a fun half hour exploring and photographing them. One remains outside the art gallery making a Shhhh sign to those who enter.
The wood worked teddies are particularly nice. Well polished and round in shape.
I think Kris wood love one for her baby nephew.
(Come to think of it, I hardly know newborn babies these days. Even my grandmother friends only have two yearlings at the best. Serina had a friend who became the mother of a little girl this summer, so we are not all out of touch with the new world.)
It's a shame when one doesn't have a baby to buy gifts for. They are always soo cute. The gifts I mean. Babies are wonders. No less.

What it means... you tell me! I thought it's the warning you mentioned. I'm also wondering if it is truly from the 19th century or is it just someone from nowadays sense of humor?

I'm not certain what the sign means - does it mean working with our hands or a pre-OSHA warning to watch what you are doing??
The teddy bears shows a craftsman's handiwork. Furniture might be his main business, but the bears are a whimsical work of art also!

I love the sign. Leave with all your fingers after you've done your woodworking in a careful manner.
I think it is an old saying - just a guess, since it uses the word digit instead of finger.
The wood shop is a perfect sepia subject, Leora. I'm a day late visiting SS friends. Can't keep up!
I do hope you can see the first of my ghost posts :-O
